I have an inside source that has told me a bit about what is coming down the pipe.

First time logging in you instantly level to 80 and get epic mount.
Second time logging in, epic gear.

Depending on what you put as your age during the registration, it will do your homework if you are 18 or younger and it will do your business power point if 19 and older.

Mows your lawn.

And the one I am looking forward to, cures toe cancer.

I applaud you for thinking outside the box, Blizzard.

*slow clap*

Having just done a hundred or so low-level quests for the Loremaster achievement, I can tell you that going through newbie zones on a mount is a whole different experience from doing it on foot. You can run through mobs you used to have to avoid, long treks that you used to have to plan for become annoying extra trips, and everything goes faster. It requires less thought and planning.

This isn't the end of the world, but it's a continuation of the dumbing down of WoW. And interestingly, I think it's an acknowledgment that Blizzard isn't getting that many new players. Most people going through the newbie zones have been there before, and Blizz is OK with them getting through the leveling process a little faster.

As Zarhym says later in the post is that they want leveling 1-80 to take about the same time as it took 1-70. Even though there's 10 more levels than there used to be, they want it to take the same amount of time to go from 1 to max level all the time.
